Rome (Season One)

This series explores what life was like in Rome, through the eyes of two regular guys, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo.  The first season deals with Caesar and Pompey as they try to lead Rome together, Caesar on the battlefront in Gaul and Pompey in the Senate in Rome.  One becomes familiar with the characters of Caesar, Titus Pullo, Lucius Vorenus, and Mark Antony, as well as a variety of other characters notable in history.  I enjoyed how the series showcased what life was probably like and gave you an inside look at history.  Truly amazing.  Watching the behind-the-scenes information was also very interesting.
